Discovering Trilogy

When it comes to beauty, I know what I like and I am liking trilogy! Ok, that's a lie I am loving Trilogy

Always up for trying new products, do not get me wrong I have my staples but I always find it exciting learning and using a brand/products that is new to me and my skin!

In fairness beauty products are more important to me than makeup, I'm busy, were busy and I am too darn lazy to perfect makeup, I mean that cat eye, I am still trying to master in a few minutes, but cut a gal some slack, after all I'm a busy single Mumma (totally using that as an excuse).

But I digress, I and who else doesn't strive for a great dewy skin, that's now just glowing but firm and wrinkle-free, without the help of Botox!

The change of season has quenched and dried out my skin, leaving it requiring some much need hydration, I found that by continuing to use my current products were not benefiting my skin, god knows why it took me a few weeks to realise, that as the season changes my skincare routine needs changing too. So I was excited to try Trilogy's naturally formulated Ultra Hydrating Body Cream. It glides on like a dream and smells heavenly, it is the most intensive body moisturiser from Trilogy thanks to it being packed with deeply hydrating plant oils to help enhance your skins natural radiance. The ingredients within it is not overpowering, evening primrose, jojoba and reship oils are all subtle enough to make you feel all kinds of relaxed and helps moisturise and nourish your skin, along with sunflower oil and manuka honey to soften and help protect your skin from harsher weathers, great to use day and night and is surprisingly quick absorbing so no-grease marks when you put your clothes on!

If I am honest, of an evening, I just want to grab my micellar water to cleanse my face, remove my make up and dive into bed next to Leanora and read a good book before I doze off! But I thought I should be a bit more proactive and really take care of my skin, after all, it too needs protection throughout the night, so thought I’d give the make-up be gone cleansing balm a go. It comes in a solid brown tub, which is great, so if I knock it over it won’t spill everywhere (one less thing to lean up). The texture looks really hard, but it is cloudy soft to the touch and melts all over your face and leaves your skin feeling a like a dream once massaged in. I was a bit skeptical about using something new on my face as I have sensitive skin and suffer from a few red patches, but after use and even in the morning, I noticed that the redness was reduced and my face looks so much calmer and nourished and it removes all traces of makeup. The cleansing balm is something that I would certainly recommend to anyone with normal to sensitive skin to use, particularly throughout the Autumn and Winter months.

I was so excited to try when I saw this in my bundle you all know how much of a fan I am of serums,  so when I spied the Rosapene Radiance Serum I could not wait to try it out. Hold the phone, it came out as a cream, no serums are traditionally oily, so imagine my shock to see a cream, I even had to unscrew the lid just to make sure and then check the website and you know what it is meant to be! Is that such a bad thing….? Well frankly no, this serum is great for those who do not like to use oils but want something so much lighter. I like to use this after I applied my oil, to the airs that get extra dry such as my forehead and apples of my cheek to give it that extra hydration and radiant boost, thanks to the repairing and strengthen and hydration from the rosehip oil. I would certainly recommend this to those who just need an extra boost and to apply day or night.

The winner, not that they all are not but let me start off by saying is if you have not tried the Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil Antioxidant + STOP the sheer madness and after you have read the review go and purchase total game changer!! Firmly in my 30’s I feel that my skin needs a little extra TLC and I have to say after using this oil for a little over a month now, I can honestly say that it reduces those little pesky lines that I’ve noticed creeping up and gives my skin that pop of a glow leaving me ready to conquer the day whilst leaving my skin protected against environmental free radical damage.

If there is one thing you do this month, then make sure to spoil your face with Trilogy.

Have you tried any of Trilogy's products? How will you be brightening, hydrating your skin this season?

Ghost Pretzels

For a spooktacular treat to make, eat and share with the kids or for your Halloween Party, why not whip up these super quick and delicious ghoulish ghost pretzels this Halloween.

With Halloween a mere day away and the Halloween weekend just passed, there is still so much time for ghoulish-scares and treats and these salty and sweet ghost pretzels will certainly be a winner for you and your guests plus your trick or treaters too.

The ghost pretzels are a big hit in the London Mumma household and they never last long and we've made these 3 times over the weekend just gone, plus it is great that I have a handy helper who loves helping me out. So if you have kids or nieces and nephews, get them involved, nothing like spending time together and getting creative, plus they can help wash up too, not that you will have much washing up to do.

Ingredients
60g Schar Gluten Free Pretzels (or any other)
200g White Chocolate
25g Edible Eyes

Tools
Microwavable bowl
A Fork
Parchment paper

Instructions
1. break up white chocolate into small pieces, par one for you to eat! Place broken white chocolate into a microwavable bowl and hit up for 30-40 secs and take out occasionally to give it a stir, to make sure that it has all melted.
2. Lay out your parchment paper and set to one side.  Drop in your pretzels one at a time, take your fork and make sure it is all coated, then place your coated pretzels on to your parchment paper. Take 2 eyes and place on the top holes, repeat until all pretzels are done.
3. Place your parchment tray with your ghost pretzels into the fridge for 10-15 minutes until hardened, then serve.

We hope you enjoy these ghoulish ghost pretzels, as much as we did. Happy Halloween!

How To Reduce Stress At Work

Ever wondered how to reduce stress at work? It is not easy! The very mention of work and deadlines is enough to send chills down your spine, and no matter the role you do, you can find yourself becoming stressed.

Work stress is very common and more people suffer from anxiety, even depression from work-related stress than you know. Whilst it is easier said than done to just forget about it all, sweep it under the rug as it were, that is simply not the right or healthy way to deal with stress, but finding a balance that works for you whilst at work and away from it to help you manage any fears and anxieties that you may have.

When you are feeling all kinds of down and negative towards your work, let us be honest, that is not great, that leads to you taking your eye off the ball, which then can create further problems for you, be it in attendance or performance and no one wants that, the key is to be successful, perform your duties and show your bosses that you can excel at whatever may come your way, in a cool, calm and collected manner.

We have decided to compile a list to help manage those work-related stresses and tensions, to help you become a better you and help you relax and reduce stress whilst at work.

Breathe
Yes I know, this may sound like a big cliche, but it is true/. Step away from your desk, go to the bathroom if you have to but breathe, You can not focus on the matter at hand, without a clouded and frazzled mind. So what better way is to find a quiet place, close your eyes and simply breathe. You will find that this little practice even for 5 minutes will get you back on track.

Drink a cup of tea
Now, I am no tea lover I must confess, but a cup of herbal tea or a nice coffee always helps relax me, that warming sensation, with a biscuit or two, is great and is sure to cheer anyone up.

Talk
Nothing better than letting off a bit of steam than by a good old chat. Have a work colleague that you trust and connect with, share how you are feeling with them or a friend outside your work environment, better out than in I always say, and you will feel so much better, but letting it all out and confiding in someone.

Eat right
We can all have a tendency to have a sweet tooth when stressed, but step away from the junk food guys, and eat yourself healthily which will lead you to feel a lot better.

Schedule your day
Get organised, an organised mind and work plan, leaves you feeling my relaxed and ready for what the working day may bring.

Have you ever had stress from work? How do you overcome it? I would love to hear in the comments below!

Friday Favourites

(pic from 'A place for us')

The week can be a serious drag, but finally its FRIYAY! So with a hop skip and jump in our step, we are dancing our way into the weekend, but before we sashay on through, this week we have some great finds for you that we are utterly loving, from beauty to fashion and everything ghoulishly spectacular in between. So with out further ado, here is our fabulous finds of the week!

Heading out this Halloween weekend and in need of a party dress, why not opt for something romantically floral or even a sequin dress to dance the night away in, but make sure to grab something quick for a spook-tacular weekend.

A little throwback to last weeks event with the glamours team and fabulous bloggers at Bobbi Brown's New HQ in Soho, showcasing a new Autumn makeup look, which we have been trying out this week and you know what I love it, their foundation stick is simply divine and glides on like a dream, but I have had to hide my goodies from Leanora, as she is now obsessed with all things makeup I mean the girl has become fascinated with YouTube as one does, and I've even caught her applying makeup to poor Milo, because he likes it and they are getting party ready! Go figure! Toddlers ! But thanks to Bobbi Brown's night, I also got to meet a lovely lady,  Melissa who's blog I follow and adore and you must check her out here.

Not yet got your pumpkins and wondering on how to decorate them, then look no further at this weeks no-carve pumpkin decoration ideas, or hit up the Pinterest page for some inspo.

Today is the day, if you are wondering why the office is eerily quiet it is because some people have pulled a sickie to binge on this year's most anticipated cult 80's inspired scary show Stranger Things and we are so freaking excited! I do not have Leanora tonight, so I've got my popcorn all ready, some ghoulish treats which we will be sharing with you tomorrow, so keep those eyes peeled new pj's for the occasion and I am diving right into bed to watch the whole thing!

After a few hours binge on Stranger Things and hoping if there would be a 3rd series and needing something to quench that thirst, head on over to Topshop they have some great Stranger Things merchandise that I've got my eye on, and if in Oxford Circus you have to check out their store-front, totally amazing I'll also show it to you over on my Insta Stories too.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Half Term Little Dates

Ok, so we are halfway through Octobers half term holiday and there is still so much to see and do! From Halloween party makeup practice to going nuts at Kidtropolis and so many other great family fun days out and fun things to make, so why not make the most of it with the kids, ŵith a few half term treats.

Looking to get away and pack up the car, the kids the dog or cat for the last few days this week before the kids go back to school and you return to work, nothing beats heading into the country for some fresh autumnal air, but before you do! Safety comes first in the form of car maintenance, it is so simple and so basic but these things can easily be forgotten when piling up the car with luggage, necessities, and let's not forget to not have a home alone situation, the kids! A quick simple check of your engine oil, brake fluid levels, car tyre tread, keeps your car happy and you all safe, plus can have you saving loads on repairs, with simple car maintenance check-ups on a regular basis, think of it like going to your doctors. Here are the top most important car checks according to me:

•  Tyres: It is extremely crucial to make sure that all four tyres are in good condition and there is a spare as well in case of a flat tyre. Make sure there are no cuts or bumps in any of the tyres and tread is also in legal limits. Since tyres are the only part of the vehicle that is in contact with the road, it is essential that they are in top notch condition
• Brakes: Another very important element is the brakes. Make sure your brakes are working fine and that there is enough brake fluid in the car to keep them working properly
• Exhaust:  car exhaust helps in keeping the harmful fumes away from the cabin, if the exhaust is broken down or not working properly it can lead to a buildup of harmful gases inside the car which can be very harmful. Make sure to check your exhaust before going on a trip, if you live in or around the area  you can book your car exhaust replacement  in Dundee from Fife Autocentre

Now, we are not far off from Halloween and if you and the kids are still needing some inspiration, why not look no further than the professionals and the magnificent show, then Cirque du Soleil! They have a great tutorial video for you to master your makeup skills for Halloween.

Leanora and I were invited to attend Kidtropolis, our first ever time going and boy was it fun, plus I wish I wore jeans than a dress! A great family fun day out, filled with shows from an all-time fave sooty, dancing act by flawless, plus Leanora fave a performance by PJ Masks and Octonauts, who she got to meet too. With plenty of time in between shows, why not get crafting with ..... or go roller skating, the Dj will certainly have you all in a spin (FYI, I totally owned that floor, thanks to channeling my 8-year-old self who had no fear), or try the bouncy castle assault course, just don't wear a dress, so your butts not in the air, super embarrassing I must say, especially having to run after a toddler, then the whole of flawless seeing your arse, but they said nothing to my surprise, I would have totally roared my head off, but the gents they were helped Leanora round (thank you) well a little, they couldn't keep up with her little legs, neither could I! But if you fancy something a little bit more relaxed you can go golfing or peruse all the shops or grab a bite to eat.

With the days being a little dark and Halloween only a few days away, why not get your creative juices going and make these easy peasy no-carve pumpkins or head over to my Pinterest page for some more inspo.

For those looking to source Leanora's blue dress, knee high socks and mary-jane shoes you can find them over at Base Fashion and Next.

Happy Half Term.

No Carve Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

Autumn is officially here, Instagram and Pinterest are awash with Autumn pics and pumpkins have been making an appearance in time for Halloween and with a hovering toddler of my shoulder, we were both eager to get into the spirit and make our own.

Beware our hands or home will never look the same after you have finished decorating your pumpkins this year, but they will certainly look fabulous and make a great centre point in or outside the home, plus it is great fun for the kids and little less mess than carving and a lot less dangerous too, plus food for thought, don't be lazy and get over excited like we did, throw on a cosy knit, grab an old sheet or newspapers and get creative outside!

As you may of not of known, i've recently signed up to Pinterest and have been going mad for it, brain is bursting with decorating ideas and I just can not believe we have not got involved sooner, but we are certainly making it up right now, so please do come over and say hi.

House filled with pumpkins which we bagged at Asda, the large ones for a £1 the little ones for 50p, a total bargain, even if they did not look super great, but the end result will have them looking great in no time.

A tub of acrylic paint, some gold glitter, a little PVA glue and you are set to make these super easy no-carve pumpkins.

1. Wipe down your pumpkins with a dry cloth, then paint twice with your acrylic paint and leave to dry for around 20 minutes.

2. Grab your PVA glue with a little spatula, then thinly apply your circle or striped design, then spring like mad your gold glitter, or fairy dust as Leanora likes to say (we seem to be moving on from unicorns) and leave to dry for a few hours.

There you have it super easy no-carve pumpkins, all sparkly designed and the look great in or outside the home, all in time for the Halloween festivities.

Once you have made yours let me know what you think! not bad for a first timer hey!

Why not pin the pics for some home inspo for you! or check out these super tasty extremely spooky Halloween party food to make after.

When Science Met Bio-Extracts For Glowing Skin

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons of all time, and with a new exciting season, comes new exciting beauty products. So when science met Bio-Extracts a cruelty-free, vegan brand, which you tailor to suit you and your skin's needs, I just had to give it a go.

I am all about keeping my skin happy and healthy, I do have a tendency to snack at times on naughty sugary things, which if I've overindulged can cause my skin to break out, plus it does not help with the autumnal chilly air on my skin, then subjecting it to the daily transport on the tubes either, with the stuff air causing my skin to clog, it is nice to know that there is a brand that can help maintain healthy skin, especially from a cruelty-free brand.

Now I have to say, I am no scientist, but am super intrigued to learn more about bio-extracts, it is a formulation, a tailor-made if you like, solution to suit your skin's needs. Bio-Extracts knows that no two person skin is the same, we all have different needs and different targeted areas, for me for instance, living a busy parenting and work life, I feel that my skin needs, a good boost and what better way to boost my skin than by a healthy glow for my tired skin and brightening booster, to make me look more awake and tackle those dark red patches, plus for good measure to help protect my skin from the days impurities, than with the anti-oxidant booster

Bio-Extracts have a range of creams, each formulated with there Multi-Lamellar System, which works in the same way as our skin in a structural layered way. The cream mimics the layering. somewhat like a patch to protect our skin like a barrier. I choose their light cream, for my sensitive skin and I have to say I have tried it on its own and it is incredibly hydrating and calming.

The neat thing about Bio-Extracts is that it has loads of serums for those issues you are looking to tackle, and what I love is that when layering with a booster, my skin gets that extra protection, that most wouldn't have and works great day or night, and it smells heavenly too, plus I am grateful for the extra hydration, my skin feels quenched, like I've drunk a gallon of water in one go,  as well as helping tackle the issues that my skin has with the lack of dullness, redness, and protection from the days dirt and grime.

Have you tried Bio-Extracts and their boosters, what do you think?

How To Keep Your Individuality When A Single Parent

When you are a single parent, the most important thing that you can do, to be the best single parent that you can be is to keep hold of your identity and personality.

It took me 3 1/2 years to realise that I had lost both my individuality and personality, I mean how did this happen, how did I, the fun-loving party girl, allow herself to become lost and lose this much. Well, simply, parenting took over, everything and everyone myself included took a back seat and parenting for obvious reasons became my driving force.

Being a single parent can be bloody tough, all that you face on your own, from running back and forth on school pickups, making sure your child is happy and healthy, provided for, cared for, you read all the books, buy all the books, that extra pressure as much as you love it, can cost you and that is what it did, it cost me my individuality and personality.

When faced with being a single parent, you can not move without making sure your child's needs and wants come first, gone are the good old days you can pop to the shop, be it for the smallest of things. Take for instance, at home yesterday cooking dinner and realised I had no onions and needed them, I had to wait for 1 hour before Leanora woke just so that we can pop up the road, that little quality time with you and only you do not come round as often as it once did.

So to reclaim me and my power I had to put myself in check, put aside the nighttime nappies, take some time off from the pre-school run and work my feet out of those Mumma essential trainers and let down my hair and rope in some family and friends to help Mumma get her groove back. Now it took me sometime, I was having loads of excuses, I mean I have loads of jobs, after being a parent, so when I do get some free time, I really like to spend it with Leanora on days out, or at home getting the every growing mountain pile of washing done.

Be A Little Bit Selfish
Now, this sounds harsh, but in order to get you back, you gotta be selfish, you put your kids and they will always be 100% your priority, but how can you give them the best you, if you are not recharged, so get  the other parent, family or friends members to give you a night off and be selfish to your babes, for a night out or in!

Get Out With Friends
the best way to find you, is by heading out guys, what better way to feel free and a little like your old self, by meeting up with friends, be it dinner or drinks or both, your head might be a little sore the next day, but your mind will feel great.

Slow Down Rents
Guys, just take it easy, forever running around and mind working overtime, will do you no favours, get organised and do not sweat the small stuff.

Get A Hobby
Be it exercise, which is great, not just for your body, but mind and soul too, plus it is a great way, especially if you take up a class and meet new people! New people, means new friends to connect with.

Are you a single parent, how do you maintain your individuality?

Unicorns & Ponies Halloween Ready

So..We have kinda gone a little bit Unicorn and Pony mad in the London Mumma household, not my own doing, but toddler related. Whilst I love the magical creatures and real-life ponies too, Leanora has been going crazy over it. Whilst before I never thought I would be for it, I am totally indulging her every magical whim......Well, how else am I going to get my glasses back!

There is no real reason for this post, but I love these pictures so much, I just could not resist sharing, plus we had a blast this weekend, partying it up with BFLF we just had to share it with you.

I think as parents and being a single parent I just want to capture every single moment of my little Cha-chi, so when she is older I can show all the pictures, which she will undoubtedly think is totally shaming, but I rule the roost..........hmmmm! So she has to endure it and strike a pose.

With Halloween not too far off, the stores are awash with fab kids Halloween inspired clothing, from Leanoras unicorn jumper dress from good old M&S to sleepwear from LIDL (my new fave store). I mean have you seen the new range of clothing H&M has to offer for kids, us big kids too. For those who are not the dressing up type i.e ME there are wearable clothing and accessories out there too.

We had a little tastier of dressing up on Saturday gone, we got down and party liked rock stars at Big Fish Little Fish, a good time family rave. One thing I miss about pre-Mumma days was just to get up and go out and shake my money maker like there was no tomorrow, and then probably stumble in tomorrow! But gone are those crazy single days, it is a new story now, which takes me weeks of military precision of getting a babysitter, reconfirming, then having to get the grandparents in or sister down from Notts, which can all be a pain in the arse, but I guess that comes with parenting. But not one to miss out on a party and one that is not just catered to adults, but most importantly the kids, it makes for a great family day out, where you get to meet other parents just like you, and with loads to do from face painting, disco raving, to various arts and crafts, you are spoilt with loads of things to keep everyone happy and entertained, plus they have a bar, so if ordering a glass of your choice, no one frowns upon it, whilst living it up with the kids. Big Fish, Little Fish is something that I would honestly encourage any family or 80's babies, with babies to go and get your party on!

A massive thank you to Big Fish Little Fish, for having us and looking forward to the spooktacular events coming up.

Stuck on ideas on what to get the kids to wear this Halloween, check out my shoppable real for inspo or check out my Pinterest page.

I am still deciding on what to wear this Halloween, do you have any ideas?

Night Time Beauty With MINTD

A seasonal skincare switch up is essential when we reach the Autumnal months for both day and night. The cool dry air can leave our skin feeling and looking parched, therefore we need, no our skin craves for some extra hydration and moisture.

We require that little extra TLC in the cooler months, whereas in the summer months we need a little more protection from the sun, but fast forward to Autumn our skin can become dry and be more subject to breakouts, I know I have seen a change in my skin's health, have you?

For me, especially when I wake my skin can look a bit my duller and lifeless, so it's important that I can help boost moisture into my skin overnight, so finding some great darling some products to help restore moisture, calm and radiance in to my skin, whilst working overtime overnight to aid the process of regeneration and rejuvenation, helping it look healthier from night to day.

When faced with a dilemma on what to use for your nighttime beauty routine, look no further this month than to MINTD Box. This months edit is all about perfecting night time beauty sleep, with products formulated with active ingredients, natural oils and aromatic and therapeutic scents, perfect for the Autumnal months, assisting in relaxation and the preparation for a good nights sleep. So sit back grab a cuppa and a cosy knit and let us get stuck into what is inside this months MINTD Box.

Nothing makes a home, mind, body, and soul feel more relaxed than with a candle burning. This Neom, English lavender, sweet basil & jasmine plus 16 other essential oils all blended perfectly together in this Tranquility scented candle is perfect to unwind with 20-30 minutes before bed, this luxurious candle's fragrance just oozes pure luxury. I like to light this before going to bed, whilst relaxing in the bath and filling the whole house with its desirable scent and this little beauty burns up to 20 hours.

Aromatherapy Associates is a brand that I am extremely familiar with and love dearly and this light relax bath and shower oil, currently takes centre stage in my bathroom, high up enough from Leanora's little toddler fingers. The perfect oil, a few drops needed only to help aid a peaceful and relaxing nights sleep, after a busy day, plus it leaves the whole bathroom smelling like heaven thanks to the restful powers of Lavender, Ylang-ylang and Petitgrain ingredients.

Once out the bath and moisturised, I spritzed Supermoods, sweet pillow scent over my pillows, honestly with all the gorgeous aromas, filling your home, it truly feels like you have brought the spa into your home. A light spritz goes a long way, I like to close the door once I have done this, to not let any of the aromatic scents leave the room, as I find that helps me have more of peaceful and tranquil sleep.

The piece de resistance, out of this whole box and something I have been dying to get my hands on, is Sunday Rileys, luna sleeping night oil! A little thicker than most, but totally not greasy at all, it is formulated with a derivative of trans-retinoic acid to minimise the appearance of pores, loss of elasticity and slow the development of wrinkles, I use a few drops once my cleansed face and allow it to soak into my dehydrated skin. I've been using this for 2 weeks and I have to say I have noticed a difference in the appearance of my now glowing and nourished skin when I wake.

Omorovicoza is the perfect at home facial wonder and any beauty lover would certainly agree. Applied 2-3 times a week, only a little is needed and the gel-like consistency helps calm and plump skin and trust me when I say when you wake in the morning your skin looks amazing, my skin looked more balanced and radiant. Plus a little tip thanks to Leanora, I went on a hunt for this last Friday after I went out and found it in the fridge and thanks to miss sassy pants, my skin was glad for it, the perfect travel-sized companion.

Overall, I have to honestly take my hat off to MINTD Box this months box is super exciting and I am loving all the products and brands in this box, it truly did not disappoint, I know I say it each month, but hands down guys and gals, get your beauty hands on this box for £65 is a total daylight robbery for all the right reasons. I have to say a big thank you for MINTD for working with me on this months box, honestly I've had the best nights of sleep the past few weeks and looking forward to tonight, as I've no Leanora, so Mumma is gonna have a glass of wine and enjoy these products all over again, roll on 5 pm!

I'd love to know if you have tried this month's box and what you think thus far, or maybe if you've not bagged the box, which ships worldwide for free on your first box order with the code WELCOME17 what you think of the products? I would love to hear your comments below.
