FREAKING AWESOME! These were the first words out of Leanora’s mouth, after her first class at Stagecoach.

Leanora was invited to attend a two week trial class, with Stagecoach, they hold performing art classes throughout London. My baby is a little shy (you wouldn’t believe it but she really is) and felt a little uneasy about attending. She did not know if she would make new friends, let alone what to expect from the classes, but I assured her she will make lots of new friends, have fun and more importantly learn new skills and unleash some hidden talents. To this she smiled and headed in.

Not familiar with Stagecoach? Don't worry let me help fill you in, their mission is to help their students blossom into well-rounded individuals, ready to embrace life and all its opportunities. With over 30 years experience teaching the performing arts, it is safe to say they are more than confident in what they do

The few classes Leanora has had I saw an instant uplift and confidence and this is what our children need, especially due to the last year's challenges of the pandemic, that they had to face, so this is a great outlet for them to come back together in a safe creative space.

Performing Arts Benefits our children in so many different ways, such as boosting their confidence, self-esteem and, mental wellbeing, as well as allowing our children to help express themselves in a creative and safe environment. They don't just offer Children Acting Classes, but also teach singing and dancing. Leanora even informed me that they did maths  and english or should I say 'fun maths' her words and I have never seen her more eager to run home and practice what she learnt.

Stagecoach Performing Arts has never been so needed, it offers our children continuity and continuity is certainly what is needed for them at this time.

With everything being so up and down a little a little regularity is great, it gives them confidence in something to look forward to, they know what is happening and the added bonus, is that they will get to see their friends and have fun at the same time leaning something new.

Singing, dancing and acting is also a great source of fitness. With us not being able to be as active as we once were due to lockdown, I don't know about you but my body felt a little tight, so these activities are a great source of movement from head to toe  to get the kiddos moving.

I highly recommend you check out Stagecoach and get your kids signed up. You can find more about them here.

Do your children attend Stagecoach or something similar? What are your thoughts? or maybe Let us know in the comments below.

Disclaimer: this is a paid collaborative post but all words are my own

A few weeks ago it was Leanora's 4th birthday, I mean I just can not believe how quickly she has grown up into this little miss independent lady. Gone are the days I can call her my baby, well that is because she won't let me, I mean the girl has supersonic ears, she even hears me when I mumble the words, mumma's baby. I have learnt so much and grown so much thanks to her, she makes me a better person, a woman and a happy mother.

I have always wanted children, but never thought at 29 whilst getting ready to meet a friend who just had a baby, that I would find out that I was pregnant, I simply thought I had a bad bottle of wine from the night before, thank god it wasn't because I was blessed with the best news and little girl in the world.

Leanora and children, teach you so much, much more than you would ever think or dream possible, now don't get me wrong parenting can be tough, even as a single parent, but it is as tough as you make it and what matters is how you face challenges in life, love and parenting that matters and when you know that you have a little person or persons to carry on for it makes it so worthwhile.

Materialistic
Nothing big or small other than your little person matters, be it Friday night after work drinks, partying until the cows come home, that must have bag and shoes you used to spend a bomb or your whole paycheck on matters anymore.

Love
I never really new love, I thought I did but nothing can compare to true natural love, until you hold your babe for the very first time, I mean that first kick you feel that movement when inside your tummy, your babies first smile, the first cry, laugh, step they take, when they find your secret stash of sweets and eat it and deny it to the very last moment whilst clutching the wrapper. Love for me with my baby sorry big girl is unconditional and endless and she has given me more than she would ever know.

Communication
You learn how to communicate real quick when you become a mother, you have to, you have no choice, you got to be able to really understand and talk to your child. The key to nailing this is, listening, really listening to what they are saying and doing, or not saying and doing, yes I mean when they take your lipstick and draw all over the wall, then say that the cat did it.

They are wise and sound
Trust me they are wiser than you think and a lot smarter than you realise. I asked Leanora how was her day, did she enjoy it and her response was 'yes mummy it was the best day ever', 'why Leanora' because I got to spend it with my families, they love me, they take care of me and you sat down with me and taught me how to spell my name, I' love all my families' she blew me away and left me beaming with pride.

I want to wish Leanora a happy birthday and for teaching me so much and allowing me to be apart of her life, my little Cha-Chi, Happy Birthday. Love you to the moon and back. Mumma xx

London Mumma

To be honest, I am totally winging parenthood which is fine by me as I am still growing into being a parent, even though I've been doing it safely to for 3 in a half years now and whilst I am may still be learning as I go along, I can share some of my wisdom that I have learnt since being a parent.

Whilst I am still trying to remember the time B.C (before children) it has me questioning, prior to that time did I really learn anything, well yeah I guess, how to knock back a few Jagerbombs after work and mastered the necessities to get through a hangover (bottle of coke, something in it relieves the hangover and a load of Chinese from Mr Liu, plus pizza for good measure) but I digress, did I?! Well yes, because I knew what council tax and water rates were. No, in terms of the fact that parenting is a whole new dimension, something that no matter how many books you read or a crackdown on Google to research from how to put a nappy on to finding out if you ever get any sleep when your child is older (the answer to that my friend is a big fat NO) you are still learning as you go, but there are things you do learn, 10 things so far. I do hope that they're helpful to someone out there....

1.
whilst I have never been made of stone, I have always had a guard up after being hurt so many times in my life, pre-parenting! But is that really healthy to be like that, no it was not healthy for me, but I tell you something, the moment you give birth or see your baby for the first time, those barriers break and you let your guard down! Whilst I like to think I am no pushover for my child, at times, Leanora knows just how to get me around her little sticky fingers and there is no shame in the game of letting your guard down for the most precious thing in your life and I am so thankful she came into my life and turning me in to mush.

2.
Whilst I have fallen in and out of love countless times in my life, I never experienced a love that is infinite as the one I have for my daughter and is returned in abundance.

3.
Parenting is a continuous battle, be it arguing over what to eat, what to wear to preschool, or who is going to feed that cat, I mean we even argue over who is going to lock the door, but whilst we may have silly arguments with our children the endless love and bond that you have makes up for those silly fights, this morning was over which Hotel Transylvania to watch!

4.
When your child starts attending nursery/school some may thrive or some may hate getting involved with the activities and events organised, I thought I would have been the latter person, but I have to say I love being involved, I think it is great to show support for my daughter, her pre-school and also great support for the community too, I thrive off being involved (except for when I forget to bring a dish in) plus it is a great way to make new parent friends too.

5.
screw adulthood, sometimes we all get that feeling when we just don't want to be adults and I say you know what we all deserve a little kid time, so there is nothing I love more, than a day off dedicating to fun, sticky filled parenting adventure with my bestie.

6.
You always have someone to talk to, have fun with laugh with and cry with (well you cry, they watch with sparkly laughing eyes, when they've just elbowed you in the boob) I am comfortable enough for us to have a clear separation of mother and daughter, but we are close enough for my child to feel comfortable to come and talk to me and ask me anything (for now...until she turns 13 I'm sure it will all change)

7.
You become your child's teacher, a mentor even your role and duty as a parent is to teach your child right from wrong, to love, to be able to guide them and give them tools in life to succeed and know that they can be anything they want in life.

8.
So much can change when you become a parent, mothers and fathers, mothers, in particular, are held in a different light at times and your place of work can penalise you for even having to cut back on hours or days, because you are a parent of a child, and I should know it has happened to me. I am a single hard working parent, I always go above and beyond for my employer/clients and I work just as hard as the next person, but I've even come under scrutiny just for not being able to work a particular day that week as I had to take my daughter to the doctors and the look I got was mortification, like I should not take my child to the doctors. It can be hard as a parent to find an employer that truly understands flexible working, but when you do stick with them.

9.
I did not realise the pressures of waiting for the school acceptance into your chosen school. I have only picked three for Leanora and the catchment area is a bitch, you literally for most schools have to live on the road, even then you are not guaranteed a place. It is so frustrating when they take siblings first even when the family has moved out of the area and at times borough.

What have been some of the things you have learnt since becoming a parent?

Leanora and I love nothing but spending quality time together, be it hitting the supermarket, singing Let It Go on route to preschool loudly and me badly, nothing makes me happier than when I'm not working than spending time with her.

With the weekend fast approaching and wanting to spend quality time with your little one, I have four fab ideas for you and your mini me to do together. Be it whizzing through the park to enjoying a little luxury shopping I know there is something that you both can do and have a blast at the same time.

Pamper
Hit the shops and why not splash out on some fab skin care products for you both. Neals Yard has a fabulous collection for both mother and child and they are the perfect natural products for your delicate skin.

Skate
Why not glide your way through the weekend, then with a pair of skates! If your mini me has not learnt to skate, then why not bag a pair of Heelys! They come in loads of colours, hundreds of different designs and they will certainly look fashion forward perfect for your trendy mini me, plus they come in adult sizes too perfect for gliding around the park.

Sweet treat
Who doesn't like a sweet treat and what better way than to hunt down a delightful treat, then by hitting your local market, a great way to support the community and try something new. Besides who doesn't like going for an adventure in the big outdoors and perusing all the treasures on offer.

Watch
Nothing better than watching a movie together be it curled up on the sofa, in plush seats at the cinema or alfresco at an outdoor cinema it does matter, what does is that you are together.

Here is to many more fun filled weekends with the mini me's, filled with sweet yummy treats, fun filled playground antics and beauty pamper sessions galore.

If you like this post, then I certainly recommend day dates, family activities and coffee spots to take the kids too. Have a fab weekend.

London Mumma 5 Things Every Working Muma Needs
Mummas far and wide I know that you will all be able to understand that we are unable to function without a few things needed in our working lives. From 5am starts to 11pm finishes on a daily basis, there are a few essentials that every working mum needs to be able to function throughout the day without completely losing the plot and crumbling to the floor and your kids using you like a bouncy castle all whilst wearing your good 6" high heels for extra measure!

Coffee Cups
For those coffee or tea lovers, we all need our little fix in the morning or throughout the day and what better way to keep charged up on the run, then with Stojo. Since becoming a Mumma I have become more aware of recycling and what is going on around me. I meticulously recycle at home and have various bins for everything. But whilst on the run I carry this nifty pocket cup, that is leak proof, collapsible and fun to use reusable coffee cup that comes in various colours, instead of purchasing a single-use cup that will just get tossed.

Wipes
Water wipes are a life saver and have many uses! Be it cleaning off the toothpaste your kids have just covered you in, to snotty noses, to help you keep cool on those hot summer days on the tube, no Mumma can not leave the house without them.

Watch
I never knew the importance of having a watch before, but to keep on top of things, and sometimes technology failing you a watch comes in handy, plus it can certainly add a touch of class to your outfit. With Ice Watches, there are endless designs and styles to keep you looking classy and chic a total no brainer to add the finer details to your outfit.

Portable Charger
with all the Instagramming, Twitter, work emails and calls from your childs school and the other million things that go on through your mobile device, staying charged up to connect us to the world is important and a portable charger something that you will always find in my Mumma Bag

Bubbles
The juice of the gods comes in the form of Prosecco or lady diesel as I like to call it! After a long day or week, the kids safely tucked in bed, what better way to unwind with a glass or two on a Friday, with your feet up. Prosecco, not your key to happiness than whatever your tipple, make sure you enjoy at least one a week.

Are there things that you can not live without, to help you have a stress free home when working?

This little beauty brings me nothing but smiles and giggles, ok, ok, ok I admit she can be a little madam, you remember some of the stuff that I've had to say to her. But in honesty, she is a babe!

As a working parent I make sure that I set time for our girlie day dates, to get to know one another, to grow and learn from one another, after all, special time, leads to a special bond, between parent and child, plus before you know it, my threenager, well in actual fact be a teenager, so I want to get as much time in with her as possible, before she runs off, gets married and leaves me with Milo!

Day dates are the best, we literally get up to know good, but dare I say it on unhealthy food, which normally consists of crepes with lashing's of chocolate and strawberries, after all, we gotta get in one of our 5 a day in some way. To running around in the park to burn off all those calories, to a leisurely stroll around the park, normally a day ended in Waterstones to pick up new books to read or tiger to stock up on painting supplies which if I'm not careful ends up on my wall (thankfully B&Q and Homebase are 20 mins down the road).

But the best part about our Day Date's, no not me having to carry her because she has zonked out and I'm laden with goodies from the day (note to self, buy a rucksack!) but that she makes me feel like the luckiest Mumma in the world and that my little Cha-Chi is growing up and you know what, as hard as I am on myself, I've not done too bad, she is happy, healthy and loving life, well unless she is arguing with the cat, God knows why, oh yeah because he is not putting on her Frozen dress, then has a pop at me, because he is ignoring her, God forbid she realises that he is Cat and just wants to be fed and wants cuddles!

How are your day dates with your kiddos and what do you get up too. Would you like a list of what to do or, maybe what's on throughout the month?
