Exploring Dubrovnik - The Old Town Part 2

As I set off to explore Dubrovnik's Old Town, aka Kings Landing (where Game of Thrones is filmed) Leanora had woken up and we set off ready for an adventure.

As we strolled or I chased Leanora around this beautiful promenade, there were rows and rows of beautiful restaurants (which I am praying were better than the last), cafes and gelato bars and museums in abundance located on Placa Street.

What caught my eye in this fascinating was a placard mounted outside of a painter's house. It was in memory of the attack that took place in the city on the 6th December 1991 by the Serbian and Montenegrian army on St. Nicholas day. Surrounded by all this beauty it is easy to forget the reality of war and the lives lost.

We continued winding and weaving through the city and its many passages, we strolled to the Pile Gate entrance and there we meet a lovely lady named Marija, who hand makes these beautiful Lavender scented dolls and comes into town to sell, we picked up a few for Leanora and as gifts.

Laden with gifts and treats, we danced our way all the way home to the beat of the traditionally folklore dressed 2 man band.

  1. I LOVE the look of those little lavender scented angels. My sister loves having lavender pouches in her room to help her sleep and this would be such a cute gift for her. Picking up little trinkets like this whilst on holiday is always fun.
