Almond Crust, Chocolate & Strawberry Tart

Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you the ultimate Almond Crust, Chocolate & Strawberry Tart.

The English weather may not be great but that does not mean that we do not deserve a treat in the form of scrumptious Dairy free treat, which will certainly brighten up any table.

My favourite thing about British Summer Time is fresh strawberries, the colour and even just the smell of them makes me happy! Now combine it with chocolate and ding ding ding you have the perfect combo for a match made in heaven.

I did sneakily eat a few before I even started the Tart, so I better get to it and share this beaut of a recipe.

Ingredients for the Tart

220g Ground Almonds (you can use Almond flour which is a lot thinner, but out of stock)
Half a cup of melted coconut oil
3 tbsp of Coconut Milk
3 tbsp of Maple Syrup

1. Start by turning on your over to 180 degrees heating the coconut oil in a small saucepan, once melted mix the remainder of your ingredients together in a mixing bowl with your melted coconut oil, until it is all combined.

2. Pour mixture into your 8inch tart tin (I did not grease mine at all and came out with ease) and smooth around the whole tin until completely covered.

3. Place tart in the oven for 15-20mins. Once baked leave to one side to cool.

Ingredients for the filling
100grams of dark chocolate ( I used Lindt Excellence 85% Cocoa Dark Chocolate)
1 Tin of Coconut Milk
4tbsp of Maple Syrup (To make it sweetie, you can always use condensed milk, but I didn't)

1. Break up your chocolate and place in a heatproof bowl, over a saucepan of simmering water and stir occasionally.

2. Once your chocolate has completely melted remove from your saucepan, place to one side to cool. when it has cooled down, pour in your remaining ingredients and stir together.

3. Pour you chocolatey mixture onto your tart and place in the fridge to set. Once it has all set arrange your strawberries on top.

Viola, there you have it a super easy, quick tart to share amongst family and friends, perfect to for any special occasion or just to brighten up your day.
