It is super important to take care of yourself, easier said then done am I right! But with my birthday fast approaching, life changing, work load growing, kids getting older, cat needing to go to the vet and requiring an operation! I've found I have a lot on my plate and need to re-adjust the way that my current situation is set up, more importantly for me and my health to be a better version of me. and have a better balance in life

It took me a while, a good while to think and then put into practice what I need doing and adjusting that way I make sure that I do things, as I can at time procrastinate way to much and in the end never get anything done, however with little tweaks here and there, here are 5 ways I've found  To Have A Healthy Work / Mum Life Balance.

Learning to breathe again

Every day make time for you, take a moment and time out even for 5 minutes to just sit there and breathe, relax your mind, with a little meditation to help clear and realign your head, it can literally do wonders for you

Plan your day

I am an organised feind, before I was pretty flexible about how my day went, but that could lead to issues, like forgetting its school jumper or harvest day, even having a dentist appointment, so now I map out each week and I outline what I have going on for the week and can always add to where necessary and I can tick it off as I go along, planning ahead is key to give you a more peaceful mind.

Think of you

Sometimes we are expected to be superwomen and it's ok to not be, after all you are human and there is only one of you. There are some people who think if I do it all I will be fulfilled and happy and you know what I bet you're not, I was not.

I decided to take time out for me get me sorted and allow a little time for me to let my hair down, being it the smallest of things, reading a book, getting my nails done, to even letting my daughter stay at my mothers for the night, so I can go out and meet friends or even have a cheeky night in, with a glass of wine and Netflix and Chill whilst in the bath., it the little things you know!

Meal plan

Rush, rush rush, cook, cook, cook! This is all I did, when I got home from work and school pick up and I would literally throw a meal together, whilst it was good and tasty, it could been tastier.

Every Thursday I take 10 minutes out and sit down and think about what we are going to eat and create a menu and shopping list, so come the weekend I can pick up all that I need and Sunday prep where necessary and normally the day of said dish that I'll be cooking I'll have some of the items out, such a spaghetti and onions, or tinned tomaotes for example, so when I'm home I grab the last necessary bits of the fridge or cupboards.

Slow down and have fun

With a busy job, homework it can get a lot and you can easily forget to have a little fun, that is why every weekend I always plan on doing something a little fun with Leanora, we recently went to the cinema and I forgot how nice it was to be in one, then grabbed a bite after, the following day went ice skating and I highly recommend booking in some fun quality family time

I love nothing more than curling up in bed, before I sleep I like to unwind with a good book I try not to watch tv, as I feel like I can not switch off or if I even dare look at my phone and scroll through Instagram, that is it I've just spent the better part of 2 hours wired on my phone and find it hard to switch off and sleep.

I have never been to be fair the greatest sleeper, a million years ago when I used to work as a stylist in the day and then as an event manager at night, I used to turn to sleeping tablets to help aid me to get a good relaxing sleep, I soon learnt that this is not healthy nor a long term solution and certainly do not recommend it to anyone.

As you know I am trying to turn over a new healthy outlook this 2019, so when I heard about moon milk a natural tea to help you rest better I was game for trying it, plus it fits nicely in with my new outlook on wellness.

Moon Milk is essentially a jazzed up warm milk, as a kid I was never a fan of warm milk, probably why I was restless, up all night reading, instead of getting my good 8 hours in. Moon Milk is more of a jazzed up adult version of warm milk, with calming cinnamon and natural honey you can even put some turmeric in to it which has many health benefits, plus it gives it a great colour. You would of seen last year all the different hues and variations of Moon Milk sprung up all over Instagram.

I decided to opt for Oat Milk for my version of Moon Milk, it tastes better, plus it regulates sugar levels, can reduce bloating and cholesterol also, but any milk can be used, from normal cows milk, to almond, coconut or soya go nuts after all you will be consuming it so modify to your tastes.

Also, to achieve this blue colour I added butterfly pea flower tea not only for the colour but it too can help reduce stress, but you can leave it out if you wish. For example I used honey, you could use your favourite sweetener or maple syrup even  or if you don't want to add a slight sweetness, the choice is yours, it is all about your own personal taste.

Ingredients

1 cup milk of your favourite milk
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon butterfly pea flower powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of freshly ground nutmeg, or to your taste

Directions
  1. Heat up a small saucepan over medium-low heat, whisk together milk with honey, butterfly pea powder, and spices until powder is dissolved and milk is warm
  2. Once nice and warm whizz up with an electric mixer to give you a nice froth on top
  3. Pour into warm mug, relax and enjoy

I always end up deviating on plans, be it New Year's resolutions, Stoptober, to pushing goals to the wayside for other things that I feel is more important at the time. What is important is those plans that we make, those goals that make us happy, nothing wrong with making your dreams a reality.

Life always throws a curve ball, just because it can, but it is how you manoeuvre that curveball back in to play that counts and setting that plan back into motion!

It's official, I am putting my plans back into action and I couldn't be happier about it and you can too. Positivity is key in situations like this, but at times its negativity that can set those wheels back in motion, it did for me, use it to your advantage to kickstart that positive plan back into action.

Weigh up now, against later
It is so easy to put something off until later and later never happens, to arranging that play date, booking yourself into the dentist, meeting with the bank, to answering that email on time. But think about it, and weigh up those options, how does putting something off until tomorrow, the day after or next week make you feel? SHIT! Am I right? It takes you one step backwards to achieving that plan and hell to the no, should we be doing that, it's about getting your big girl/boy pants on and taking that step now. DO IT!

Set that goal
Go back to the drawing board, or Pinterest board to give you that push to keep you on track, it's a great, no, positive reminder as to why you are taking the necessary steps, no matter how out there they may seem, just remember to have fun. You can add to it, mark it off, being able to visualise something helps put things and your mindset into perspective to get yourself organised and keep you on a steady track to then plan.

No drawing board or Pinterest, then get yourself a diary, nothing better than being able to carry something around with you, day in and day out which is super easily accessible to help you push yourself further in order to achieve your plan.

I never really understood it, maybe because I did not want to face my fears, but alas now I am in my 30's and finally feeling somewhat grown up, I now know the importance of taking responsibility for my actions.

I used to think, ah fuck it, I'll deal with it tomorrow, the next day and the next, which I now know is a very unhealthy outlook in life, heck not just my life, but my life now as a mother, a role model (one hopes) to my daughter.

How can I be a good human and a good mother, friend or sister (no lover for me, I'm taking a back seat from dating) if I can not take responsibility of what I am doing or lack thereof in life?

It doesn't just hit you, like the stretch marks do once you've pushed your baby out, no! It can be a gradual thing, you gotta think about what, who is going on around you, In order for you to take responsibility for your actions, but most importantly look at yourself in order to be in a healthy, acceptance mind frame.

Whilst life can be tough, it's as tough as you make it as they say and yes, my sensitive feisty Scorpio nature may have played a part in some, ok most of my bad decisions and wild younger days, I'm ready to face up to certain things in life, in order to move forward and be a better version of me and the first step is taking responsibility.

Accept defeat
Ahhh....A good old battle, a war of words if you like, I've never been one to back down from anything, even when I knew I've been in the wrong. I remember in my 20s when I worked in property, I had somewhat may call it a fiendish obsession with Greggs sausage rolls. I was not happy if I didn't have one, so strolling for my morning fix one day, I arrive at Greggs to order mummas baby (yeah, I'm that weirdo) to be told they had sold out, shut the front door they've only gone and bloody  'sold out, sold out' how dare they! I mean I've been out all night, still hungover and I've sauntered down here from the office and you've no sausages....poor thing, well not me, the poor staff after telling him the importance of providing sausages rolls as after all this is Greggs bread and butter. I stopped and laughed one because it was pathetic, two I did realise my unhealthy obsessions with scraps of pork, but ohh the pastry, the buttery pastry and thirdly I had to accept defeat and, take responsibility for me being rude and apologise. Letting things go, no matter the calorie content or big a small a matter may be, sometimes it is ok to accept defeat, riling yourself up and me looking like a twat will get me nowhere in life and you know walking away from a situation can be healthy for you and your soul, waistline too.

Step outside the box
Exactly that, put yourself in the other person's shoes, assess the situation from someone else point view and stop being selfish and put others first, take charge and accountability for your actions.

Stop making excuses
Only you lose here, no one else. You miss out on new opportunities, friendships and experiences, so simply stop making excuses and accept responsibility for the situation at hand, after all, is it not a better you, better life, adventure, opportunities we all crave?!

I know most are not fans of Mondays, but they can be the best day if you let it. So today let me help you change your mindset by giving you 4 reasons to love Monday's.

Get me on social:

Well hello there Friday, you looking good and mighty fine! Can you guys believe we are firmly in the Autumn months, be it the sun is making the odd morning appearance here in London, it sure is nippy first thing in, but I am secretly craving for the first of the Autumn leaves to change into various shades of brown and orange, to fall upon the floor, so that I can get my new booties out, Leanora's too. Plus one of my new favorite festivities is soon approaching Halloween, excited to create a costume for Leanora, no doubt if she gets her own way it will be princess related and not a ghastly ghoul in site ha!

I have pulled a few things that I am totally loving right now and have added to my Friday Favorites this week....

Now these tasty beauties are perfect for those Autumn days, plus they make the house smell divine too, for curling up on the sofa, with a hot cuppa coffee, a good book, and these tasty pumpkin Spice biscuits, that last no time in the house.

Can you believe I finally made it out the house, I had organised a Hen Party Dinner, for my darling friend Banke, who is also a fabulous blogger. We ventured to the tastiest of Pan Asian restaurants DSTRKT and dived into its vast menu, if you find yourself in Soho I would certainly recommend
checking it out.

You may of remember from my recent MINTD beauty post, I spoke about this Omorovicza, Queen of Hungary face mist, ever since I have had it, it has become a firm favorite and I take it everywhere with me, not just great for keeping my skin refreshed and hydrated, but is a perfect barrier for the days impurities, as well as leaving my skin glowing even after applied to matt makeup.

As you know, I am currently in the midst of redecorating the house and I have totally fallen in love with the new collection at H&M Home, it was just too good not to share with you all.

With LFW just wrapped up, all over the catwalks, we spotted various shades of girlie pink coats and I am totally in love with this faux fur Mango pink coat, perfect for the Autumn months.

I’d love to hear about your week in the comments!

The most tremendous day has finally arrived, FRIDAY! And it is time to plan a weekend of bliss, be it a day of relaxing in the house in your favourite pyjamas or venturing to the great outdoors and looking for an adventure, what ever you do make it your own. Today I am sharing with you some much loved Friday Favorites, a round up of what I am loving, from a beautiful store that I have found and decided to make my home, to books, and so much more.

The most beautiful and heavenly store in Hove, Igigi. Whilst roaming for coffee after a day spent on the pebbled Brighton beach collecting seashells and spotting crabs, I was in need of some rich warming coffee to warm up my cockles. They sell everything from home furnishings to the most beautiful natural milk soaps, to coffee and cakes in the upstairs cafe, it is the best place in Hove for a little refuel.

I finally have gotten round to reading a book, yay! With normality setting back in at work and parenting life, I have found some much needed me time be at late at night with my new Utility Design lamp. I am able and divulge into an amazing fictional book, Domina, the right amount of sex, drugs, and murder, which makes for a good night sleep!

My creative juices flowing, thanks to the fabulous blog, A Pair and Spare. I am updating the living room and thought due to it being Autumn to add a little colour, with some new pillows and I thought purple would totally make it pop, but finding it hard to find the right style, but with a little inspo from one of my fave bloggers I can make my own with this handy DIY post

This gorgeous Ecoya, Lotus Flower candle was gifted to me at a  recent press showcase and it is simply divine, I have only used it once and the whole house smelt exquisite. Its scent is a blend of lotus flower, contrasted with deeper shades of vanilla and patchouli a scent and candle that I never want to run out of and will certainly be purchasing.

Let us know what fun things you guys have planned this weekend and what your favorites have been this Friday?
