With the end of the month here and may be all spent out from the summer holiday activities with the kids, I have some fun and cheap things you can do this weekend under £20.00

1. Museum

There so many cool exhibitions on at the moment, our favourite new one was at 180 The Strand, incredibly beautiful immersive experience which you can see here via our TikTok

2. Buy a Book

We've been reading up a storm along with also making sure Leanora is keeping on top of all her maths work, so she doesn't fall behind and she has a head start before the new school year starts, plus you know me I love a new thriller action.

3. Pamper Night

After a long week, Leanora and I love going to our local Boots or even TK Maxx, buying new nail polish and few fancy face masks and hand gloves, on a Saturday and curl up on the sofa armed with a massive bowl of pasta and having a chilled girly night in whilst watching a family movie .

4. Bowling

Bring on game day, we are super competitive and I wouldn't have it any other way, well maybe not at this moment in time as I am suffering with Sciatica so Leranora and friends have the upper hand but bare with me, in a few weeks this Mummas going to take them all down. We love a game day and our favourite game to play is bowling

5. Go To The Beach

The weekends are the cheapest times to get tickets to go have a splash at the seaside, even if not for the sea, it is always great to get out of the hometown and see some new sights, for some fresh and chippys and bot of rock.

6. Catch A Movie

Cineworld and Vue have a great family offer, from 10am they show family friends movies and cartoon's from as little as £2.50.

7. Food Market

If you know me, you know I love food and if there is a market on you better believe you will find me there bells ringing and all. I love to keep costs low and what better way to give yourself a limit and see what you can get for £20. Start of with maybe some fresh pastries and coffees, go for a walk around town before you head back in for lunch and see what delicious treats you can get.

8. Go To The Lido

This summer we spent loads of time sunning and swimming at our local Lido in Tooting, there are so many in and around London, so if you can not get to the beach why not book yourself in for a swim at your local Lido.

9. Cook for friends and family

Instead of dining our, why not get some friends and family and over for a little afresco dining if you have outside space, or dine if not and rustle up one of my favourite and affordable cheap eats, such as my Provolone Chicken Rollatini  followed by Lemon and Pictahio cake

10. Go To The Theatre

Official London Theatre have some great offers, where kids can currently go for free as well as some other great affordable theatre tickets that you can bag for under £20.000 why not head on over and catch a little matinee.

Make sure to come back and see what else I will be adding to the list. I am also planning on creating a list of cheaper things to do plus a whole load of free thing for you and the family.

Don't forget you can follow us on Instagram and TikTok too.

I keep one stashed in my handbag, my desk at the office and on my bedside table. I am like a lost puppy if I don’t have one on my person at all times.

It’s easy to forget that we need to take care of our hands, especially come winter months when our hands need the most tlc and hydration and it’s so important to keep your hands moisturised, you can even start and prep your hands before the winter months to help prevent cracked, chapped dry hands.
Shop The Post

Hand creams or balms if you like have come along way, there are a load of affordable options even from the high street to luxury brands that offer a variety to suit all your needs.

You may remember The £10 Monthly Beauty Subscription I Can’t Recommend Enough, well I’ve continued my Beauty Pie subscription and purchased hand cream from their Plantastic collection. A bonus is the cruelty free vegan hand cream is packed with Shea Butter perfect for nourishing and reviving your hands and perfect for those with dry sensitive skin infused with calming, soothing chamomile floral water. A great size too and super affordable and fits perfectly in your hand bag and good for every day use.

It’s no lie that I love anything with geranium, geranium has to be one of my favourite essential oils.  The Swedish brand Arekt's geranium hand balm contains canola oil, oat lipids and birch sugar that help to moisturise the skin perfect for this time of year to sooth chapped hands.

As we come in to a new season, new skincare is needed for the cooler weather, as like you I notice a change in my skin, it’s becomes more dry and more hydration is required and I need to treat it accordingly.

Beauty Pie, the new monthly beauty subscription, it is the latest must have, it allows you to buy premium skincare and beauty products available at affordable prices, it’s hard to pass it up and I have to say I’m addicted.

Introduced officially by a colleague and seeing it all over Instagram I had to give it a go, the beauty junkie in me could not resist.

I decided to start with the first membership level at £10 per month giving you up to £100 to spend, just to dip my toes and test the waters! Bonus your first month you can choose products up to £200. How it works is like this instead of paying for full price you purchase at members price and each month your membership allowance renews and any money you have left over simply rolls over.

I selected the Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser, it transforms from gel to oil to milk (once in contact with water) super lightweight balm and fragrance free and is perfect for my sensitive skin to help brake down my makeup and pollutions. I use it everyday and a small amount goes along way, and to help remove any left over residue I use it’s best bud, Double-Sided Organic Cleansing & Exfoliating Cloths the perfect accompaniment to any cleanser.

A skincare product that I use on a daily basis is oils, great for forming, plumping and adding that much needed hydration into your skin to give you that perfect glow and supple looking skin, so for he past month I’ve been using Beauty Pies, Superdrops™ High Intensity Hydration serum, if I’m honest whilst it glides on my skin it’s very watery and for me used on my skin on its own it doesn’t do much so I add a few drops to the Super Healthy Skin™ Daily Moisture Lotion and I find combing the two give me the healthy hydrating glow I’m after. The Daily Moisture Lotion is a true gem for me, not to light, yet not too heavy and doesn’t leave you with that greasy feel either once applied, it’s suitable for all skin types plus vegan friendly also.

With a busy work schedule and out most days, in meetings having to pound the pavements my feet need a little extra TLC so I added to basket the, Dr Glycolic™ Soft Feet Peel Socks, you can imagine my surprise when in my reformer Pilates class when I took my trainers and socks off to find they were peeling, whilst I totally forgot that they would start to peel after 7 days I couldn’t hide my shame!!! But a few days later when they stopped peeling my feet did feel as soft as anything and cracked heel repaired, thanks to the bags you keep on your feet for an hour are filled with high-percentages of Glycolic and Lactic Acids, Natural Fruit extracts of Grapefruit, Orange and Lemon, plus Sweet Almond and Coconut extracts.

Beauty Pie originally started with makeup and have branched out into skincare, hair care, fragrance and now bodycare so I had to select a few makeup pieces, it would be rude not too! I love a glow no matter the tome of year, but wanting to boost radiation in a subtle way and stepping out my comfort zone and playing trying new makeup to see what works for me I knew I had to try the Pro-Glow™ Superstrobing Drops, a cruelty-free vegan friendly highlighter, perfect t to use on its own or a little added to your foundation for the ultimate glow on those dull days and perfect now for the party season for that supermodel glow. It comes in two colours, Illuminati & AstroTurf, I’ve purchased both as Leanora decided to put her on and her dolls caught her and she dropped the Astroturf in shock and my horror, but both are great for my skin tone......and hers!!

I’m an 80’s baby and a 90’s teen and it was all about the lip gloss, so it would of been rude to not of purchased the Nude Nectar, Wondergloss Lip Oil. I wouldn’t really say it’s a lip oil, more of a gloss, a little sticky but it doesn’t bother me, once worn it does make my lips feel a tad dry, so I like to use a balm before application and I use it everyday I don’t hate, but I don’t love it either, but weirdly enough I carry it with me everyday.

Thinking of signing up, you can get your first month FREE add my name Lindsey London Mumma at checkout.

Hey guys, my name is Lindsey and I am a coffee addict! Phew I’m glad I got that off my chest!! For years, since I was probably 15 , I’ve been drinking coffee, from espressos, to chai lattes and milky office made coffees, years of drinking my fave cuppa has caused my teeth to stain and it’s never bothered me too much until recently and thought crap, do I really want yellowish teeth all my life, duh! Hello no! Especially as you see pearly whites swarmed of Instagram.

A true and funny story, my best friend, he refuses to date guys with teeth not as pearly white as his, he has even taken his partner to go have his teeth whitened haha! My kinda guy, I kid! But yes whilst I’ve not gone to the dentist to have them professionally done, I’ve found a more affordable way to achieve it, teeth whitening strips.

Want a killer smile of course you do, I certainly do, so when Pro Teeth Whitening reached out to trial their 14 day charcoal teeth whitening products I was ecstatic to give it a go and take my first step to achieve a glorious pair of pearly whites.

These peroxide free, charcoal activated teeth whitening strips have been developed to safely whiten your teeth, remove stains and bring back that radiant smile. I am always a little bit dubious about teeth whitening strips, I feel so they really work, the first few days I did not notice too much of a difference, but I was still guzzling coffee before and after each use, you have to leave them on for 30 minutes and goes without saying you shouldn’t eat or drink when in use. But I had to get strict I really wanted to see results, so I got smart, days after that I limited myself to one cup, one large cup of coffee in the morning to get my caffeine fix then applied the strips and followed the steps, no coffee for me after that and in honesty I did notice that they were getting a little lighter, not massive amounts but enough for me and even Leanora to notice, bless her! Well the strips are charcoal activated so when she saw me each morning, she did get a little freaked out saying why are my teeth all black and I look great-grandad with no teeth and are my real teeth stored in a glass haha! Bu always once removed she was pleased as punch.

My thoughts on the Pro Teeth Whitening strips, they are good, don’t know if you’d even achieve pearly whites with them, but if your strict with yourself as I had to be, you will notice a slight difference.

You can snap these whitening strips over at Amazon, they retail for £19.99 more affordable than others brands, plus you can get 10% off with code: WHITENING

Now I’m off to have my first cup of coffee and use my last strip, will I continue to use them? I think I just might!

Have you guys used teeth whitening strips before? Have you tried Pro Teeth Whitening or any other brands what have your results been like?

Lindsey

Disclaimer: I was sent these strips to review and all thoughts and opinions are my own

I have a confession, I have yet to purchase a mothers day present! I know, I know I am such a bad daughter, what I have been thinking about is where to eat, you can always rely on me to think of my gut first and everything else is secondary.

When it comes to gifts for special people in my life, I always end up getting them the same thing, may sound a little lazy, but it is always what they want and I try and to aim to please. This year I'm not going to get the same beauty products, son mum, but I am going to treat you to something different, plus, maybe just maybe it is what I want from my daughter, obviously an abundance of hugs and kisses, plus my girl as you may of heard on my Twitter page, she has learnt and decided on how to wash up, an added bonus present if you will.

With Spring officially here, there is no better time to invest in some classic linen dresses and every year Mango has a great selection of beautiful cut linen dresses. I do not think any of us are ready to officially bare our toes and a great pair of luxe sneakers like these Veja's are what most women have been lusting after, especially for those busy mums on the run.

A great face oil always makes for the perfect gift and for those wanting to try a new brand that works wonders, Herbivore's, Lapis Balancing Facial Oil is a beautiful addition to anyone beauty regime for glowing skin this Spring and if like my mother they are big beauty fans another beautiful gift is the Drunk Elephant gift set which you can purchase at Space NK also, is perfect for the jetting Mumma.

Accessories, who doesn't love them from this super cute handbag from Topshop perfect for your mother to carry for the Mother's Day lunch and these beautiful shell earrings from Mango.

Who doesn't love a naughty piece of chocolate and who better to turn to for something luxurious, non-other than Liberty, I remember my mother use to meeting me here after I finished work and hands down I'd always find her in the confectionary area bagging a few treats.

There is no mum in this world that would not want a beautiful smelling candle, I for one love them and Santal 26 have beautiful scents perfect to burn of an evening, talking of what better way to relax than with a new set of jammies and these cozy Just Sheepskin slippers, with your feet up of a night, candle burning with a book in hand and little piece and quite.

Today I wanted to share with you a new beauty brand that I've added to my collection. I am always looking for something new I am a believer of trying new things to keep my skin guessing and refreshed. I feel at my best when my skin is looking and feeling right, every Sunday I like to start with an at home mini pamper session to prepare me back for whatever madness the week has installed for me.

I may not keep up with a regular sleep pattern, work out routine and dare I say it a healthy eating habit, I've eaten one too many crips and indulged in far too many sweets these past few weeks, but one thing for sure, no matter what is that my skincare regime will always be on top form and comes first.

Löwengrip, a leading Nordic beauty brand that has now become available here in the UK, they got in touch a few months ago and were kind enough to send me a few pieces that I had chosen. They are 100% cruelty-free brand, they know what women want and need and here to empower us with great skin and only use the best and most effective ingredients and I love that they take a whole holistic approach in product formulation.

To get my skin back on track I've only been using Löwengrip to wash my face, I have very sensitive skin and a love for all exfoliators, some which can cause havoc and tear my skin leaving it a little raw, but I've been using the Purify My Skin - Facial Scrub religiously and my skin has never looked so brighter, it is suitable for all ages which are great, however you should only use it twice a week, but I like to go for 3 to help just even out my skin's tone and give it a deep clean.

My dark circles and skin has looked a little tired, due to stress, work and life, it really has got me down a little bit and what I've learned in my 30 years,  if I was to have firm, plump glowing skin I have to take of it simple really, so at night I like to unwind with a few candles and after my face has been removed from all makeup and face fully cleansed I like to apply a good amount of the Sleep Sensation - Hydrating Mask. I wake up and my, when washed off my skin, feels firm, like it has a new lease of life, I feel so much better its brighter I feel more confident and not wanting to apply a heavy amount of makeup, but that said what has worked for me may not work for you, but it is about trying new things, find out what works for your skin and making you feel empowered enough to not want to reach for makeup but go out into your day with your head held high with great skin.

Whilst everyone has a different budget, this range from Löwengrip is affordable for all and great for those like me who have very sensitive skin. Below you can see the what I am using as well as some others from Löwengrip.

There are certain things that I can not live without and one of those things is candles. I just love that when you walk into a room, the smell is just uplifting and cosy and makes you never want to leave.  Every mantle space, nook and cranny in my home you will find a candle, kept out of reach of Leanora of course.

I love finding new brands and scents and you do not have to spend a bomb on finding delicious good long-lasting scented candles, for decoration I head to Ikea I literally fill my bag with them, TK Maxx for the more unusual and Space NK or Selfridges for a bit of luxury.

Each season I change my scents and with Christmas only 4 weeks away, I look for more bolder, cosier, woodsier and festive scents to get me in the festive and winter mood.

Arket, my new fave store where you can grab clothes for the family, coffee and cake as well as items for the home, sell a Geranium scented candle it is inviting and fills the room all whilst not being overpowering at the same time. I love burning this after a long day and putting my feet up on the sofa, helping me unwind and relax of an evening, brilliant for de-stressing in the bath to end your day.

H&M can never do any wrong in my eyes, whilst the more affordable priced candles scents do not last as long, they too are great for decorative purposes, they have a new still affordable but a little more pricer premium candle range and this cotton candle, which has a burn time of up to 50 hours is great for burning first thing of a morning, its light and fresh and you will most likely find this candle in my kitchen as that is pretty much were I spend most of my time in the morning and can easily go through quite a few of these.

Just in time for Christmas, my mothers favourite candle brand Yankee Candle is hosting a competition where you could win a Yankee Candle Christmas set over on wowfreestuff head over to enter here

Have you tried any of these candles? Let me know your recommendations of your favourite candles.

It's officially Autumn, you can feel the chill in the air the moment you wake up, extra layering is required, from cosy knits to heavier jackets to heavier moisturises and skincare needed.

With the change in weather, your skin needs boosting as it becomes more dryer and dehydrated than usual, we've all been there with our lips craving moisture from chapping, a heavier face cream to give you that extra glow through the bitter cold times.

No one wants to walk around with chapped lips, it is literally the worst thing ever, we all want the perfect pout, in order to get that and combat this weather, you got to get those lips looking just right! Personally I am not a lipstick wearer, still trying to find that right shade, but for those that do and do not want flaky peeling lips with lipstick on, I would certainly recommend investing in Nuxe lip balm to prep and bring moisture into your lips, the botanical oils to lock in the moisture and honey will help rejuvenate, nourish and repair chapped lips. This is a great size to fit into your handbag and certainly would recommend using all year round. The texture is great, it simply just melts into your lips and leaves it silky smooth and feeling uplifted thanks to the subtle hint of grapefruit.

This balm is insane, it literally melts into your skin. This balm also from the Rêve de Miel collection is for the face and body, but I like to keep it as a treat for my face, but another bonus is, is that it is paraben free and I can also use it on Leanora too, perfect for the whole family and children over 3 years of age! Leanora suffers from eczema and this time of year, is when it can flare up quite badly, so thanks to the 6 botanical oils, honey and Shea butter, it locks in the moisture and keeps our skin nourished all day.

My legs, in particular, get extremely dry in the colder months as well as my body being very sensitive, this cream does not irritate it. We all have different skin types and it is so important on finding what works for you and your skin, but I whole hardheartedly cannot recommend this cream enough, it absorbs into the skin immediately, which is great and is non-greasy better for you and your clothes, plus the smell is incredible and so calming.

I love a short week, after only returning back to the office on Wednesday and now the weekend is here, Leanora getting into the school we wanted I am literally floating on cloud nine, but I would not have made it through the week without a few new necessities to help me through and I just had to share with you and you never know a few may inspire you for the weekend.

New book
Ok, so I am a little gutted I did not do a May book review but do not worry this June I'll have a good one for you next week. A book that I could not resist sharing with you straight away is my latest read which I am still chomping through is 'The Colour Of Bee Larkhams Murder'. It is about a boy Jasper, he is no ordinary boy, he sees things differently to you and me, he sees and hears it all in colour, colour that no one else can see or hear, until he discovers a new colour, the colour of murder of his neighbour! Was he there, did he do it, does he know who killed Bee!? Well, get reading guys cause I sure will be finishing this book by the weeks end to find out about Jasper's new colour of murder.

Foundation
I am not a major makeup person, never have been and quite frankly do not have the time, plus by the time I've got into the office after being on the tube, it mostly comes off. But I was on the hunt for something nice and light, step forward my new purchase Clinique's even better glow, it is perfect for the Spring Summer months, my skin looks refreshed, hydrated and evens out my skin tone.

Bag
My new favourite this week is the bag of the season, it is the must-have accessory for this Spring and Summer the 60s beaded bag! They are fun, kitsch, feminine and boy do they make a statement for all the right reasons, Instagram IT girls are parading them all over and no matter your age (me in my dirty 30s) it is an instant uplift to any outfit be it dressed up in a party dress or dressed down with mom jeans and a killer t-shirt.

Miller Harris has opened my eyes to a new kind of a beauty. A beauty all stored in a darling bottle and a scent bursting with summer adventure all whilst getting, Lost In The City

Last week a little package arrived at my door, it was a long hard day at work, looking after 14 venues 7 members of staff, a daughter, a cat and a sister who is now living with you is tough, but my worries were washed away by the arrival of a little package at my doorstep, a package from Miller Harris.

Shop my Look

Scents are personal, we love what we love, we hate what we hate. It can always be hard picking a parfum for others, it is so personal, what I may love, you may hate and vice versa but Miller Harris, you cheeky devils you know what I love..... After all, I've been banging on about a particular scent that I crave, no, that I love, Geranium!

When seasons change so does my style and the same can be said for my parfum, the spring and summer months the scents I crave are something nice light and floral as opposed to Autumn and winter where I like something a little heavier and richer.

Shop the Collection

Rhubarb, Rose petals, Geranium embodies this parfum and all three scents I love, but infused together makes me feel like I am lost in the woods, chasing butterflies with Leanora on a bright sunny day. This parfum is far from heavy but nice and light and the fragrance lasts all day and survives my commute to work.

Lost In The City, is one of a trio from a new collection produced by the London Perfumer, Miller Harris, Lost In The City is in a collection inspired by urban foraging, the bottle is simple, but the packaging it came is so pretty, it even comes with a little-multicoloured stand you can store it in on your dressing table.

I styled a classic linen dress around this fragrance, as that what they both are classic pieces, no must-have pieces for the Spring and Summer months. Hair kept relaxed as well as makeup minimal, a simple gold watch and my circle straw bag of the moment with some white sandals that picked up from Primark, can you believe for £6.
