I love a short week, after only returning back to the office on Wednesday and now the weekend is here, Leanora getting into the school we wanted I am literally floating on cloud nine, but I would not have made it through the week without a few new necessities to help me through and I just had to share with you and you never know a few may inspire you for the weekend.

New book
Ok, so I am a little gutted I did not do a May book review but do not worry this June I'll have a good one for you next week. A book that I could not resist sharing with you straight away is my latest read which I am still chomping through is 'The Colour Of Bee Larkhams Murder'. It is about a boy Jasper, he is no ordinary boy, he sees things differently to you and me, he sees and hears it all in colour, colour that no one else can see or hear, until he discovers a new colour, the colour of murder of his neighbour! Was he there, did he do it, does he know who killed Bee!? Well, get reading guys cause I sure will be finishing this book by the weeks end to find out about Jasper's new colour of murder.

Foundation
I am not a major makeup person, never have been and quite frankly do not have the time, plus by the time I've got into the office after being on the tube, it mostly comes off. But I was on the hunt for something nice and light, step forward my new purchase Clinique's even better glow, it is perfect for the Spring Summer months, my skin looks refreshed, hydrated and evens out my skin tone.

Bag
My new favourite this week is the bag of the season, it is the must-have accessory for this Spring and Summer the 60s beaded bag! They are fun, kitsch, feminine and boy do they make a statement for all the right reasons, Instagram IT girls are parading them all over and no matter your age (me in my dirty 30s) it is an instant uplift to any outfit be it dressed up in a party dress or dressed down with mom jeans and a killer t-shirt.

TOP  |  JEANS  |  SUNGLASSES

This year I'm being a bit selfish, but selfish to myself, nothing I enjoy more than changing someone's day, the happy way. Yes, it may be Valentines Day, the day of love, but lets put love on hold for a second and think about making someone happy, not necessarily by buying something for someone that will last for a short period, but a random act of kindness goes a long way.

Am I people pleaser, is it ok to be a people pleaser, yes sometimes it is and nothing wrong with it I rather do one thing to make someone happy, no matter how small or large the gesture, it doesn't have to be for a significant other, or member of family or friend, it could be a total stranger.

Smile
The most infectious act of kindness. The other day I woke up in a bad mood, nothing happened, I was just in bad mood, probably hormones or something, but instead of me wallowing in this anger, I decided to flip the script, after all, we want to have a good positive day right!?! The moment I stepped outside of the house, the first person I saw I smiled art, not like a weirdo smile, but a genuine one and that person smiled right back, wished me good morning and I and you too will have an instant uplift in mood.

Talk to someone
Take a moment out and talk to someone, be it a friend you have not spoken to in a while, to stranger or homeless person, just talking to someone can really brighten up a persons day.

See the grandparents
Nothing makes my grandad and me happier than a little chit-chat, be it about the news, the western that he is currently watching, or our favourite topic, Celebs Go Dating! Now that he is retired he spends his days at home cooking for the masses and cleaning the house. Throughout the day, whilst he may be doing chores, or looking over the paper getting ready to put a bet on a horse, he is on his own, like most grandparents who are throughout the day, so take some time out for them, and give them a call or go and see them I know where I will be later, I just hope he's cooked my favourite soup!

Buy someone a coffee
A random act of kindness, can one really surprise someone but makes them also happy, it is all about making someone's day with just a selfless random act.

Pay someone a compliment
Nothing makes someone's day more than a nice compliment, be it about there cooking, what they are wearing. Try giving the first three people you see a compliment, it would totally make there day.

Bake
Why not whip up a nice tasty treat for your neighbours, such as my bitchin banana bread, it won't just make them happy, but you happy too, plus your house will smell super comforting.

Even though we are firmly into our second week into the New Year, it does not mean you can not set in motion and start some new healthy habits now, as it is never too late.

With focusing on doing things for you this new year in terms of goals, you can not forget about the healthy side too. I mean, I am certainly not the only one nor will I ever be the last person in the world to want to start new healthy habits, especially after the party season, which has drawn to a close, and the frostbiting weather that has crept in, we are going to want our body and mind to be at it's healthiest. But I and you can to start off small, nothing major, just a few small tweaks and we can take, no, we should take baby steps  to get the ball rolling on you and I becoming and feeling healthier.

Exercise
A no-brainer I know, but this can also be the hardest, especially for those with busy lives or single parents like me, who can find it hard to get sitters. But I am not, nor should you let this deter you, you've got a home, a DVD player, wifi, Instagram even, so get a work out DVD, find something on Youtube or even search Instagram for some #fitspo and kick exercises butt at the comfort of your own home.

Quitting Smoking
Now I must confess I am only a social smoker, wouldn't dare smoke in the day, well unless I am super stressed, but for those who are finding it hard, remember baby steps cut down slowly but surely, set yourself a target and work towards it, you will get there. Plus after you start exercising you won't feel the need to want to smoke anymore, substitute that bad habit, with a healthy habit.

Be Proactive
Stop procrastinating and get up, be proactive with the things that make you happy, the more you do those happy things or see those that make you happy, will make you feel better and happier, thus leading you to have a healthier mindset.

Write A Gratitude List
Not gonna lie now, I thought this was a joke, whatever can a list make me happier? Well yeah, it does! I wake up a little extra earlier, grab my notebook by my bed, with my sleeping toddler next to me and write 3 things which make me happy, number one normally consists of not being kicked in the night, by Leanora and the others just flow and once written I always feel a lot better and it makes stepping out of bed in the freezing cold a little more manageable.

Make Time For Peace & Quiet
Nothing like a little me time to make a person feel more relaxed and happier, be it stealing a few minutes away from the office and going for a walk at lunch, instead of being cooped up in that god awful aircon swarming room, some fresh air into your lungs and head, is a sure fire way to make you feel a little more normal. For those that do not work, a dip in the bath with some oils is just what the doctor ordered to feel like you again.

Spoil Yourself
Nothing like a new treat, be it a jumper, book to even nail polish to make you feel better. Is buying something healthy you may ask, well yes. Stop being so hard on yourself all the time, ease up on yourself from time to time, just remember you are doing a great job and nothing healthier than spoiling you once in a while.

What healthy habits will you be implementing this year?

We all want to live successful and happy lives, but sometimes we can find ourselves in a rut and not leading a healthy lifestyle and feel that there is no way back to brighter days, well you are wrong. To get out of that doom and gloom is on you kid only you can get you out. But don't worry we all need a little helping hand, even myself, I recently found my self in a horrible situation, which leads me to making bad decisions and life choices, but with a few positive rituals and eating and exercising more, lead to me being more productive, as well as being more organised at work.

To lead a healthy lifestyle, we have to make some healthy lifestyle changes here I am sharing my top 3 to have you in a better healthier mindset.

Get rid of the negativity
This can be the hardest thing, so it is best to start off with it. If you are surrounded by negative people and they do not want what is best and do not have good intentions, why would you even want that person around, you have to remove them from your life, no matter how hard it is and scared it can possibly have you feeling. To improve your life, surround yourself with positive people who want what is best for you.

Treat your body right
This is great to get all those endorphins going, it is a great mood booster and great for your happiness plus it will have you feeling healthier too and ideal for reducing your stress levels. So get up and get out and find a work that best suits you.

Eating right
The best way to start the day is with something healthy and tasty, get rid of all that processed sugar and heavy carbs, that will only leave you feeling sluggish, start your day with the right sweetness, which you can find in a tasty smoothie bowl
