With the kids finally set back at school the commute to work has apparently got 15% more crowded! But with how hot and tiresome the commute has been to work these few weeks, which can lead to us feeling a bit stressed, before we have even got to work and in honesty, I'd say public transport is 85% more crowded.
With long days at work, you want to feel and look your best, but the commute can have you feeling the exact opposite before you have even stepped into your office, whacked the coffee machine on and booted up your computer! What you get is you looking and feeling like you've just stepped home from a heavy night of partying and looking like a remix of Freddy Kruger with a blend of Predator! But with a few essentials to help you survive the commute to work, I am sure I will have you feeling and looking fly.

Water
A great way to keep your cool and hydrated on all systems go, whilst traveling to work is having a water to hand, why not purchase a quick bobble bottle, perfect for refilling and keeping you refueled and feeling as cool as cucumber whilst traveling from A - B. Plus by consuming water, it won't just be keeping you cool and hydrated throughout the day, but it is also great for your skin, hair and nails, after all our body is 60% water based, so gotta keep it topped up!
Tissue
Never leave the house without them, great for the hot sweaty commutes and coffee spills, and crumb wiping and snotty toddler nose cleanups.

Transport App
I can not stress enough, if you are on a mad dash to work and not managed to watch any of the news, get your appy on and check what is going down with public transport, nothing more infuriating that running late and not taking a few seconds out to her the status of transport, to keep you on track.
Mini fan
A life saver, be it on the tube or a hot office, where the big debate about having the air conditioner should be allowed on or not. Small enough to pop in your bag and have on your office desk.
Face mist
The perfect cool down after a hot commute, my new favourite is from Omorovicza, that I mentioned in my Friday Favourites and MINTD Box is a must have and still a firm favourite to carry around in my handbag.
Deodorant
It can be a sweaty job this whole tube malarkey so to keep extra fresh and smelling great, as we all know some don't when on public transport, carrying a can or roll-on deodorant is a life saver, after hitting that hot and sweaty transport.
Antibacterial Cleanser
After that commute into work, you can feel somewhat a little dirty, holding on to those rails, going up the escalators, whilst public transport may or may not get cleaned, do you really want to be eating your breakfast croissant with those hands or touting your face, even to push back your hair after the commute and holding on to those rails, or whatever you have found to keep you stabilised for dear life!
Headphones
The perfect way to unwind and block out all that hustle and bustle on the commuter to work, bag yourself some new headphones to help ease your mind into work, with your favourite podcast or album.

Mummas far and wide I know that you will all be able to understand that we are unable to function without a few things needed in our working lives. From 5am starts to 11pm finishes on a daily basis, there are a few essentials that every working mum needs to be able to function throughout the day without completely losing the plot and crumbling to the floor and your kids using you like a bouncy castle all whilst wearing your good 6" high heels for extra measure!
Coffee Cups
For those coffee or tea lovers, we all need our little fix in the morning or throughout the day and what better way to keep charged up on the run, then with Stojo. Since becoming a Mumma I have become more aware of recycling and what is going on around me. I meticulously recycle at home and have various bins for everything. But whilst on the run I carry this nifty pocket cup, that is leak proof, collapsible and fun to use reusable coffee cup that comes in various colours, instead of purchasing a single-use cup that will just get tossed.
Wipes
Water wipes are a life saver and have many uses! Be it cleaning off the toothpaste your kids have just covered you in, to snotty noses, to help you keep cool on those hot summer days on the tube, no Mumma can not leave the house without them.
Watch
I never knew the importance of having a watch before, but to keep on top of things, and sometimes technology failing you a watch comes in handy, plus it can certainly add a touch of class to your outfit. With Ice Watches, there are endless designs and styles to keep you looking classy and chic a total no brainer to add the finer details to your outfit.
Portable Charger
with all the Instagramming, Twitter, work emails and calls from your childs school and the other million things that go on through your mobile device, staying charged up to connect us to the world is important and a portable charger something that you will always find in my Mumma Bag.
Bubbles
The juice of the gods comes in the form of Prosecco or lady diesel as I like to call it! After a long day or week, the kids safely tucked in bed, what better way to unwind with a glass or two on a Friday, with your feet up. Prosecco, not your key to happiness than whatever your tipple, make sure you enjoy at least one a week.
Are there things that you can not live without, to help you have a stress free home when working?
London Mumma xx
Whether you work from home or in an office (I do both) you want to come back to your safe haven, not stress over things that need to be done in the home, to paying bills, cleaning, cooking etc. It should be a place of tranquility, but don't get me wrong life can throw you some curve balls and things can get disastrous and anxiety can get the better of you, but with a few key ingredients and positive mantra put into action not just repeatedly said in your mind, or whispered under berated breath, a few key things is all you need, to put in place to have a stress free home when working.

Stack up on stationary
I am a stationary junkie, I am always buying new notebooks, pens, post-it notes and my new fave purchases have been coloured document wallets. They are great for storing and sorting all your important documents, be it for taxes and bills and keeping everything safely together.
Know due dates of bills
Before I paid no attention to bills and their due dates and that can at times lead to trouble. So it is vital, to know what is coming in and especially going out of your account and knowing when things need to be paid. The perfect way to keep up to date is storing everything on your calendar on your phone, that way you can keep check whilst on the go.
Dad will fix it
I am fortunate enough to have my dad live down the road, so anytime anything needs to be done, I am grateful dad comes running with tools in hand, be it reluctantly on a Sunday morning. If your dad is not local, utilise YouTube, you can literally find anything on there to help you! How to paint correctly, how to garden, to even how to put up a shelf, (if you can't be bothered to read the instructions, and are a bit of a more visual person.

Food prep
Planning on what you are eating throughout the week is great and does not have to be stressful, with a little forward planning That way you can save yourself a bit of money and there will be less food waste. A great example of a bit of prep is to make a batch of Breakfast Pops, perfect for those hot mornings or to keep fuelled up throughout the day is with some seedy-oat bars or make a big batch of lasagna.
Get the washing done
With a busy home, a number of clothes are expected to get dirty, thanks to an active toddler! The washing can just pile up. But by making sure to keep on top of it, does help. Another sure fire way, if your bathroom or laundry room is large enough, have a twin laundry basket one for lights and another for darks, so when it comes to separation it is much easier. Another great feature, if you have the function available is to pre-set your washing machine, so when back from work, it all already done and just requires you to hang it up.
Get your kit out
Now you've noticed I've not said off! You filthy minded lot, I do mean have it ready the night before and prepped, you may remember the importance of this form my 5 tips on how to not be late post.

I hope these tips have helped. What do you do to have a stress free home when working? I would love to hear about you manage and get organised in the comments below.
