Parents across the country and preparing themselves for the October half term shenanigan's and for those wondering what to do with the kiddos this half term, look no further I am here to help and save the day with some great family activities.

Days Out

Dopmaine

One of the latest immersive experience brought to you by Fever. This amazing family friendly exhibition is located a short walk from South Kensington Tube station. Dopamine Land , is a unique and interactive exhibition that combines traditional mediums with innovative technology to activate all your senses, plus you can load up on some free popcorn too.

Jurassic World

I am so excited about this one, 29 years ago was when the original movie first came out I've been in love and watched every single movie, so it makes complete sense for me to walk through the gates and experience what it would be like to be there in real life and come face to face with the life sized dinosaurs.

Frameless

Frameless is a brand new culturally rich, immersive, multi-dimensional art experience. Housed in an incredible 30,000 square foot venue and located just a few short steps from Marble Arch and Oxford Street, it is the biggest of its kind in the UK and Leanora and I can not wait to go an explore.

Gravity Wandsworth

The best place ever, if you follow us over on TikTok or Instagram you know we had an amazing time, plus it was super affordable too, we ended up spending just over 3 hours in here and could of spent longer if it was not a Sunday and we did not have school and wor the next day. There are so many different activities, from bowling, golf, go-kart racing an arcade, VR games and darts to even a room dedicated to gamers, this is great place for the family  to spend some time, plus if feeling peckish they have a few different restaurants located in side

Theatre

As you know we love the theatre, we only started going this year and I have to say we are hooked. We have already seen, The Lion King, Grease, Frozen and Wicked sadly not Matilda YET! I've heard great reviews about Matilda, if it is anything like the 1996 film you know you are going to be in for a treat.

Make sure to come back for more things to do as I'll be adding to the list, during October half term!

Don't forget you can also follow us for more family adventures on Instagram and TikTok too.

I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to this half term, not only do you get to spend it with your favourite humans, there is no getting up early for work or the school run whop whop! Guess who’s gonna treat themselves to new bed sheets for the special occasion....

Where to begin with so much fun stuff going on there is so much to look forward to, weather permitting of course, this week for us Londoners a bout of snow is on the horizon, personally I’m looking forward to it for the snow angels and snowball fights.

Cinema
I don’t know who is more excited Leanora and I and hopefully you too as we are off to watch the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie. All I can here in my head is the Sega Mega Drive coming on....all with me SEGA!

Cooking
Let’s talk everything from breakfast, blueberry breakfast muffins, quorn burgers for lunch, Aubergine lasagna for dinner and funfetti popcorn to doughnuts, forget about dining out and get cooking, plus you’ll save yourself some money too for those half term activities.

Theatre
Still time to catch Cirque Du Soleil’s epic Luiza show at the Royal Albert Hall, perfect for the whole family of all ages to watch this energetic, colourful acrobatic show about the wonder and beauty of Mexico.

Netflix & Chill
What free days are made for simply Netflix & chill. Not everyday you have to go out, yes I know the kids will destroy the house, but we all need a break and half terms can be expensive, so I say make a few favourite snacks dishes, get your comfies on grab the duvet off the bed sit back and relax on the sofa and watch a movie or two. Currently we are watching Locke & Key a great series for the family a little spooky at times, but you’ll know when it’s coming more suitable for older kids, however, another great family movie is Leanora’s favourites Angry Birds & Annie. When the kids are off to bed I’ll be watching The Stranger, I’ve not even started this yet and heard so much great thing about it, have you seen it? I’ve saved it for now so I can binge watch it now that I’ve a few days off from work.

Lightopia
The most amazing light show we’ve ever seen. Last weekend we set off down to Chiswick House & Gardens for a stroll around the park lit up by beautiful light sculptures from tinkerbell, dinosaurs, flowers and animals.

What are your plans this half term? I would love to hear and for you to share in the comments below.

Lindsey

Let's face it, we are all excited for the half term approaching and I am literally counting down the days and ticking off the dates on the calendar and counting down all the minutes until I can say 'see ya later' to all my work colleagues and hit out on to the open road.

We are planning on driving down to the seaside and staying with friends for a few days, nothing refreshing and more relaxing than spending time smelling the salty sea air and basking in the open fields and recharging my mind, body and soul.

This half term is all about us enjoying our staycation, it is great as it gives us an opportunity to explore old blighty and it's beautiful shores and sceneries that it has to offer, it is great for saving money going on a staycation, as the summer holidays will no doubt whizz round and wanting to travel then too, plus it is great time for me to put my car in to be checked and fully MOT'd.

We are heading out of London this Spring half term, as you know Congested roads are an issue all over the UK but especially in London so why stay here, I want to enjoy and have fun this half term, but before we do I think it is is time for me to put the car in for an MOT.

As a car owner, I know the importance of having an MOT carried out on to my car, it is important to protect my family, me and others on the road too, we all want and need to be safe and not having your car regularly checked or booked in for an MOT can be extremely dangerous. I know some may find going to the garage a little tedious, stressful too, but it is important to check the vehicle's safety and its roadworthiness, some people simply do not know where to even go or where to begin about booking your car to be checked, but I found that DAT Tyres website lets you book MOT in London online, easy as 1, 2 and 3.

MOT's take no time at all once booked in, about an hour and your whole car is fully checked out and they make sure everything is in working order, they look underneath the car, checking the suspension, shock absorbers, brakes, wheel bearings, fuel system, exhaust, drive shafts and steering. Plus they will pop the hood and they’ll check that the battery and electronics look good. Failing to not have an MOT will not only incur you a whopping fee of up to £1000, but you could also be putting your vehicle and others around your in harm's way, your vehicle can lose control without proper brakes, your fuel consumption would increase leaving a hole in your pocket.

Before heading out this staycation, I thoroughly suggest that you regularly check your car’s engine oil, the water level in the radiator, the brake fluid level and the battery. Not to mention the tyres and tread depth. If you follow all of this advice you and your car will be ok, plus it is vital you know where all these things are, if not when you put your car in for an MOT ask, better to ask than to not.

I'm not going to lie to you, there is nothing better than the smell of warm banana bread wafting in your home, the aromas are simply heavenly and truly inviting.

This Bitchin Banana bread is rich in flavour and tasty as hell. I am a firm believer in spoiling yourself and this is certainly a big tasty treat, I mean a bitchin one at that!

I have found a new found love in baking, especially with Leanora, I'm not a clean baker I have to confess, the kitchen looks like a bomb site after, but oh boy it is so worth it once it's ready. We normally grab a few forks, sit on the floor with Milo purring at our feet and us in a fit of giggles enjoying our spoils.

This requires next to no work at all, especially if you have little helpers at hand, as soon as we wake up we like to make this first thing in the morning, as we find the whole house smells warm and comforting from the get-go and gently reminds us when we are back from running errands that there may, just maybe, a few slices left over to tuck into.

Leanora and I will certainly be getting a little bit more creative with our baking, we are actually making something just in time for Chinese New Year, which we are super excited about next week, but until then why not try out our Chinese sweet sticky wings until then.

Ingredients

100 grams of softened butter
175 grams of caster sugar
225 self raising flour
1 tbsp of baking powder
2 tbsp of oat milk (or any)
2 eggs
2 ripe bananas

Directions

1. Lightly grease your tin and line with non-stick parchment paper, pre heat oven 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.

2. Mash bananas in a bowl and set to one side. With the remainder of the ingredients whisk together with a wooden spoon add in your bananas until well blended.

3. Pour into your greased tin and pop into the oven for about an hour until well risen and golden brown.

4. Pop out of the oven and set to one side to cool for a few minutes.

5. Slide out of the tin and slice up the bad boy largely and enjoy.
